This workshop is intended to review the basic elements of roadway work zones for two-lane temporary traffic control. The discussion will address the use of advance warning signs and traffic control devices for flagging procedures. Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working around vehicular traffic will be reviewed as well.

Reference will be made to Part 6 of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the Ohio Supplement. Rural and urban applications for local roadway systems will be emphasized.

Who Should Attend – This workshop will be of interest to roadway maintenance workers, supervisors, engineers, and others responsible for temporary work zones on local roadways.

Instructor – The instructor will be Gary D. Browning, CPM, Training Manager and Safety Circuit Rider for the Ohio LTAP Center. His background includes over 30 years of experience in Public Works local government. Gary earned his Road Master certificate in 2012 and earned his (CPM) Certified Public Manager from the John Glen School of Public Affairs, OSU in 2014.

Partial attendance does not qualify for receiving a webinar certificate. Participants who successfully complete this webinar session will receive credit for completing this course through the Ohio LTAP Center. This course does count toward the Roads Scholar training recognition program: Level I – Row 4, 5 or 6.
Participants who stay on the webinar session for the complete time will receive a certificate for 3.0 hours. The certificate can be utilized for PDH / CPD credit if the participant chooses. Certificates are typically prepared & emailed within five business days after each webinar.
